THE PROP DOCTOR
Few Special Event Prop-Environment Designers understand the total picture when it comes to visually competitive environments. Our installation for Silicon Graphics in Steven Spielberg's Dive restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip is an example of what's possible. We integrated examples of Hi Tech products, theme banner, logo and more into a low light hi traffic existing theme environment while respecting the sight lines for top of the line entertainment. We created a unique selling display complimenting the client's level of visual sophistication within a modest budget.
The time between contact confirmation and setup was ten days. In that time we produced the props and packed and shipped on the same plane our set up team flew. During our 6 hour setup, we assembled a 14 foot tall illuminated bar graph, hung 4 self illuminated 4' x 4' computer chips, installed 8 logo portholes with ghost waves between computer display stations, and created a balloon banner replicating the event invitation bubble theme with custom cut self-stick letters in the client's font and tm color.
We have many large theme packages appropriate to quality social events and corporate sales gatherings. We are proud of our recent production for Secor Corning based on an international flight. Guests entered the hall through retro deco airport customs point into a theatrically light hall featuring 6 large international displays. These included Rio's Copa Cabana Night Club, Hot-Hot-Hot Caribbean-Cuban crazy palmed beach, exotic Chinese Garden, the Carnival of Venice with well styled manikins and mimes. Life sized Kirov ballerinas turned in the upper air space over Russian " Onion Domes " for classic excitement!
The concept of International Flight started with a classic air ticket-passport invitation featuring 40's airline circling the globe which we recreated in 4' white circular reliefs with client's name These were placed in the airport's entrance and within the event for additional continuity we " flew " the same airliner centrally in each geographical display.
